selphie_t: (Look to the sky)
[It's been about a month since Selphie had been returned to Luceti. Things had been confusing at first but thanks to talking with friends, her memories have returned to her completely. She'd also spent quite a bit of time wandering around the village and getting reacquainted with the place. A lot of things have helped her in more ways than words can really express. She's settled back into her daily routine in Luceti.

Then the Amnesia struck the village, leaving her oddly unaffected. Maybe the Malnosso were just being particularly cruel but there wasn't a lot she could do about that now. She just accepted the fact that the Malnosso were assholes and left it at that. She'd spent much of that time watching the people and helping out where she could. It was a part of her nature after all and she wasn't about to change that.

This current morning brings Selphie to the village plaza and a session of digging through the item shop for any pieces of home that might have turned up. There isn't much for her find however, as she frowns at the objects underneath her hands. It's disconcerting, but expected that things from home would turn up so soon. She does lay claim to a multicoloured pair of mittens for the upcoming winter and tucks them into the bag she'd brought with her.

The days were getting cooler as the fallen leaves fluttered past on the breeze. The trees were starting to turn and the smells of fall were in the air as Selphie eventually winds up settling down in the library with her journal and a pen in tow.]

The more things change, the more they stay the same. A lot of the faces are different but Luceti as a whole hasn't changed.

So, consider this your roll call, Luceti. Who's still here? Who's new? Who am I not entirely acquainted with yet? Come say hi or something! And, mass amnesia and comatose pirate chef's aside, how's everybody doing?

Speaking of Comatose Pirate Chef's, is he up yet? :) [Be afraid Sanji. BE VERY AFRAID.] Also, you owe me cookies for a month.

[Selphie isn't one to write study notes down very often but with the Britannia setting sail on the sixteenth, she has a lot of information to commit to memory. Add into the fact that she's run out of notebook paper and the journal is really the only source of paper she has without leaving the house in search of supplies. There have been worse things drawn in the journal in the past so this shouldn't be so bad.

In fact, it may even be familiar to some so if they feel the need, they are more than welcome to make any corrections as a couple of images are drawn.

a cut that doesn't really exist! )

It's slowly coloured in over time before several lines of text join the images.

Bells!

1 bell = half hour
2 bells = 1 hour
2 bells, pause, 1 bell = 1 hour, 30 minutes
2 bells, pause, 2 bells = 2 hours
2 bells, pause, 2 bells, pause, 1 bell = 2 hours, 30 minutes
2 bells, pause, 2 bells, pause, 2 bells = 3 hours
2 bells, pause, 2 bells, pause, 2 bells, pause, 1 bell = 3 hours, 30 minutes
2 bells, pause, 2 bells, pause, 2 bells, pause, 2 bells = 4 hours and end of watch.

Watches

First Watch = 8 pm until Midnight
Middle Watch = Midnight until 4 am
Morning Watch = 4 am until 8 am
Forenoon Watch = 8 am until Noon
Afternoon Watch = Noon until 4 pm
First Dog Watch = 4 pm until 6 pm and first dinner break
Second Dog Watch = 6 pm until 8 pm and second dinner break

Just a few more days until the Britannia sets sail. Should I bring a compass just in case? I probably won't need it because I'm just relaying orders and I can do that but would it be a good idea to have an extra one just in case?

[Selphie draws in a worried face at the bottom of her notes. She's not feeling particularly confident in remembering all that information. It's her first time on board a vessel since the last mission and most of that was a blur. It all went by so quickly for her back then and the drafts are times she'd sooner not think about.]

Anybody wants me, I'll be at the Battle Dome on the boat simulator.

I've done this before... why am I so nervous?

[Enough! Enough is enough! There's just too much sadness going around Luceti right now and it doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon. Selphie feels like she has to do something about it. She doesn't trust her voice right now to say much of anything because the loses have gotten to her as well. Instead, she'll take to the paper in a similar way she did for Archie the other day.

First things, a good three-quarters in taken up solely by brightly coloured pictures. Trains, Sailboats, those red velvet cupcakes they have at the bakery, anything and everything that comes to mind. Then, she pulls out a pen and her bubbly looking penmanship flows over the page.]

I know that we've all been through a lot and we have reasons to hate this place but think about it this way. If we hadn't been brought to Luceti, we wouldn't have met each other. We wouldn't have learned the things that we've learned and we never would've known that our spirit can't be broken no matter what they do to us. It might shake us all up and have us wanting to give up but we can't do that.

As long as we're grateful for the friendships we've forged and the things we've all learned from each other, the Malnosso can never break us. So tell me guys, what's something that you've learned from another person while in Luceti that you would have never learned at home? For example, Sanji taught me how to cook and Giles introduced me to Romeo and Juliet.

So come on! Don't be shy!

Tonight I find myself in need of some advice. Say that you live with someone who's not used to cleaning up after themselves and literally just leaves everything everywhere and all you want them to do is clean up after themselves? How do you convince someone to do this short of having to take all of their things and dump them on the front lawn in the middle of a middle of a downpour?

I'm not really used to living in a super messy place and while I'm trying to do my best with it, it's super mega messy.

Also, is anybody any good at Algebra? Too many formulas and stuff to remember. This stuff is harder than fighting an Iron Giant! If only there a spell for doing homework. T_T Or could I count the after school sparring sessions as homework?

[Selphie taps her pen on the paper for a few moments before drawing lazy squiggles on the page before closing the journal. She's gonna get back to that homework but she flips on the voice function.]

I'd like to give a humongous thank you to everybody who helped out with the party. It wouldn't have been as awesome of a success without all the help that everybody offered.
selphie_t: (be careful of my heart)
[Irvine had vanished a couple of weeks ago and Selphie had dealt with that as quietly as possible. Although there is a very high chance that she holed herself up in her room for a day and cried herself about the issue. That's her best friend but the Malnosso had made him suffer enough.

And then to put the icing on top of their proverbial cake, she'd found Rydia in Cecil's now empty room. It left Selphie feeling that someone had to break the news to the village. The people who knew him had a right to know and then, she'd have to somehow keep not one, but two idiots from Baron from doing something stupid/get themselves killed.

It'd taken her a few long moments to muster up the nerve to bring her pen to the paper, but when she started writing, there was no stopping her.

When it rains, it pours. By the time she's finished writing, she can't write anything else. Her friends leaving always brought her down a few notches.]

For those who knew them, Irvine Kinneas of Balamb Garden and Cecil Harvey of Baron have both been returned to their homes. They will both be missed by those who knew him.

[Filtered to Gelda.]

Miss Gelda? I won't be in class tomorrow. I'll be needed at home.

Dear Malnosso,

YOU SUCK. You seriously suck. If you could suck any harder your heads would cave in! Sure, it might be funny to drop people off in the forest in a dress to freeze to death but you know what? This experiment tops it all. It seriously tops it all.

Our house has been damaged, my boyfriend looks like me, a lot of my friends have been turned into girls but no... oh no, no...

You don't know my boyfriend and you don't know what happens when he gets adventurous little ideas in his head. And he's sooooo in the doghouse because you dipshits decided to let him have a little more fun than he's supposed to be getting. Don't think that I don't know what he ponders because I know him pretty darn well by now.

And while we're on the subject, if you ever -- and I mean EVER -- give him the opportunity to change into me ever again, I will not hesitate to get my hands on the biggest, baddest rocket launcher that I can get my hands on and I will blow you all to smithereens!

I'm glad we had this talk.

Love,
Selphie

[This is something Selphie can't do very well. Allen was a good friend to her and it kills her inside to know that he's left this place but at the same time, he won't have to endure the experiments any longer. However, she can't quite speak these words without her voice cracking so she feels safer to write them instead.]

For those in Luceti who knew him, Allen Walker has been returned to his home. I hope he's happy and safe.

If anybody can use black magic, water and ice magic work wonders! Ice magic works best but I kinda ran out so... If only we could use Shiva's power. :(

Everybody okay? Quisty? Irvine? Squall? Everybody I've met! Drop me a line and let me know you're okay! If you don't, I'm hunting each and every one of you down.

I really hope this kinda stuff doesn't happen often.
