003; I'm on the Highway to Hell [Voice]

[It's a miracle that Selphie's still managing consciousness as she stumbles back into House 11. Her aches, ache and her reserves of adrenaline are just about spent as she makes a slow, stomping trudge up the stairs to the second floor of the house. She peels off the layers of destroyed leather and leaves them in scattered heaps on the upper portion of the stairs. She'll stifle a yawn before opening the door to her room. She kicks her boots off into the open closet and finally gets a good look at herself in the mirror.

She looks like shit and couldn't care less. She's a lovely myriad of black, blue and purple as she contemplates a shower. Her hair is a tangled, matted mess from days of hard fighting and overuse of filial magic. She stands there in black leather pants and an undershirt before she peels out of her ruined clothes and slips into a pair of clean pajamas. The bags under her eyes have bags as she digs through the top drawer for the hi-potions she kept handy in case of trouble. She doesn't even wince at the awful taste as some of the discomfort dissipates as the potion works its magic.

It also brings with it a deep lethargy as she walks to her bed and flops into the comfort of the matress beneath her tired body with a soft grunt of pain. She stares at the white ceiling with disinterest before her hand reaches for the journal. She doesn't know what to say about the draft other than the fact that it went to hell in a handbasket fairly quick.

Add in a 12 hour enforced quaranteen where the Malnosso refused to let her sleep for more than two hours at a time and Selphie's ready to crash for the next couple of days. Maybe she should've gone to the clinic for treatment and lectures from Bones but she's just too out of it as she fumbles for the voice button.]

Hey. [The exhaustion is clear in her voice.]

There might be more people coming back from the draft and they're gonna need help so keep an eye out for them, okay? I dunno where they're gonna show up but they're gonna be pretty banged up and half-awake like me.

So... g'night Luceti. It's good to be back...

[Selphie trails off and all that's left to hear is her soft breathing before the posting eventually times out. If one is listening closely, they might hear some mutterings about Zombies, viruses and hi-potions.]

[She took her journal with her while she picked up her mess.]

See ya in a little bit! [She knows he got distracted by their childish banter. She's just not saying anything.]

[And while Selphie showers and brushes her teeth like a good little girl... Ikki finally comes out of his room and heads to the kitchen expecting to see Smoker.]

Just three things... One: Don't give Selphie coffee, she doesn't need more energy. Two: Get your own damn pet. Three: Good morning.

[Why, yes, he was listening in. Sue him.]

Morning. She's just having milk. Want eggs and pancakes?

[After a good long soak in the tub, teeth brushing like a good little girl and another hi-potion, Selphie has slipped into her denim overalls and a yellow thermal shirt with blue stars on the sleeves. She'll arrive a bit later with her cheeks slightly pink from the cool air. Her hands are stuffed into the pockets of her jacket as she knocks on the door.]

[Action] what do you mean, he's super polite

[It's just coincidence that Ikki opens the door, really. It's not as if he has been magically managing to find reasons to wander near it waiting for her. So, yeah, it's mere coincidence that Ikki opens as soon as she knocks the door, looking at her with critical eye and a frown on his face as he steps aside to let her in. Of course she's old enough and she knows how to take care of herself and everything, but Ikki doesn't really care even if he knows he won't find unattended wounds or anything that she hasn't taken care of already, he still checks her.

She's not welcomed just by a grumpy older brother figure, though, Hyoga slips through Ikki's legs to jump at her legs with a happy bark. At least one of those two remembers and knows how to welcome someone, because Ikki, in all his greatness, is too busy eying her to say anything more than a "hn" sound.]

[Action] all the silent polite

Hey Selphie. Milk's on the table, and we also have juice. Of some kind. I forget what.

[Finishes cooking up three plates worth and flips the pancakes \o/ Yay cooking.]

[Action] but of course! XD

[selphie_t]

[She's sees that scrutinizing look and stares up at him with a weird look on her face as a result until Hyoga's jumping at her legs.]

Hey Hyoga! [She'll crouch down to scratch behind his ears and pat his head.] Who's a good boy? Is Hyoga a good boy?

I'll be in a minute. Hyoga wants to smother me with love first.

[Action]

[Don't give him that weird look, girl, he's just worried curious to see how well you are after your time out there. Anyway, once his curiosity is satisfied and the door is closed, he ruffles her hair taking advantage of her crouch down position.]

He can smother you with affection later, once you have food in your stomach. Otherwise he's not going to let you eat anything until it's cold.

She's just trying to steal him. No giving Hyoga any of the food.

[That's Smoker's job after all :| And he sets out the last of the plates and some fruit wedges and grabs a seat. \o/]

Oh, like you aren't scheming to steal him either, Smoker? And he calls me a Pirate.

[But with last pat to Hyoga's head, Selphie makes for the table and promptly snags an apple wedge and bites into it like it was her last meal.]

Mmmmmm, best thing I've had in a couple days.

[Well, Selphie has one already but for Ikki nothing says that she can't have another one. As Hyoga tries to follow Selphie to the table, as excited as ever, Ikki grabs the animal by the neck and puts it in front of its own plate full with food. Ikki ignores the animal's light whine as he join the others for breakfast, getting a cup of coffee for himself.]

I assume that keeping soldiers well feed still isn't among the Malnosso's priorities.
