[Something is wrong. The night before, Selphie had gone to sleep curled in close to Ceodore and in the morning, the bed was cold. His things were gone. Selphie fell apart and has not left the apartment since.

She's alone again. She hates being alone. He said he'd never leave her and she'd believed him and then he broke his promise.]

Ceodore Harvey is no longer in Luceti.

[Hamlet is indeed much more engaging thanks to the recitations of the passages. It makes it feel like she's getting a mini performance without having to sit in a theatre.]

I didn't know you could act, Archie.

[A glimpse of a surprised face, then he chuckles.] Well enough to entertain, not well enough to perform. When I was a boy, my part in an evening's entertainment was to read aloud. My sister and I sometimes put on little plays.

[There's a small smile on her face now thanks to this revelation.]

What kind of plays? Did you make them up?

Most of them, yes. We had neither the patience nor the will to learn a whole play by heart. Not the long ones, anyway. Once we did perform The Tempest for my grandfather. Just the two of us in every role!

[A soft, sad little laugh and a wistful look in his eyes.]

[Selphie hears that sad laugh and stares at the ceiling before leveling her gaze at Archie. She places the empty cup on the table as she folds her arms across her chest.]

[He glances at her, then gives a tight smile.]

It's good to remember. She was a very dear friend, and I haven't seen her in a long time.

It reminds me of when my friends and I from home found some fireworks and set them off on the beach. We got in a lot of trouble for it but it was fun.
