76th Draw - A little bit louder and a little bit worse [open action/backdated to saturday afternoon]

[The Malnosso seemed to have decided to be nice to Selphie for a change.

Kinda.

They drop her off in the village alright but she's banged up and been bitten more than once. Fighting shift hunters for the past few days has been exhausting and they didn't seem to want to let her sleep at all so she while she may be walking of her own power, it's not very well or very fast. There's a limp to her step as well and her arms are crossed over her chest in an attempt to keep some bit of warmth inside.

Her dress is will stained with fresh and dried blood as she eventually sits down somewhere and huddles in on herself for warmth. Seriously Malnosso, would it kill you to send your mallynap victims back with boots in the colder months? At any rate, if someone happens upon her, the perky brunette is pretty banged up. Most of the wounds are pretty fresh and thanks to wandering about barefoot and an attempt at escape from their Lab, there's bruises everywhere along with the odd burn but those wounds are pretty fresh and better cleaned before they get infected.

Are you game to help a gal out, Luceti?]

[ooc note: Selphie's mallynap effect will make her impervious to the effects of any healing magic meaning that she's gonna have to heal the hard way.]

[Yeager happens to spot her as she sits and immediately wrinkles his brow in concern--is she barefoot? In this weather? He heads over, step quickening as he notices her wounds, and crouches down beside her.]

Are you all right, Miss? [It's a bit of a obvious question, but he figures it best to voice his concern before anything else. He'd rather not have her suspecting he was about to harm her further. Victims can be skittish sometimes, after all.]

[identity profile] boomchucka.livejournal.com 2011-11-13 05:35 pm (UTC)(link)
[Selphie takes a few moments to mull over that question before she shakes her head in response.]

Not exactly.

[identity profile] ever-deceptive.livejournal.com 2011-11-13 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
What happened? Is this the fault of the Malnosso?

[He reaches into his suit jacket, pulls out a handkerchief and attempts to gently wipe some of the blood off of her. Ah, geez. What the heck did she get into?]

[identity profile] boomchucka.livejournal.com 2011-11-13 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Sounds like you're new so you probably don't about the monsters they have called Shift Hunters so it's totally the Malnosso's fault.

[She won't push the handkerchief away but she will lean her head against the wall.]

[identity profile] ever-deceptive.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
[Well, he's relatively new. New enough not to have heard of those, at least. His brow furrows in concern.]

So they had you fighting monsters?

[identity profile] boomchucka.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
Uh huh.

[Selphie sighs before she starts attempting to get up off the ground.]

I better get to the clinic...

[identity profile] ever-deceptive.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
[He nods and takes her arm to help her up. Yep, better get her there as soon as possible. He doesn't have any kind of healing ability, after all, and while he does have some basic first aid knowledge, it's not as though he walks around with bandages and antiseptic. He does wish he could amend her lack of shoes, but he can help generally with the issue of the cold...]

Here. [He shrugs off his jacket and offers it to her.] You had better keep warm.

[identity profile] boomchucka.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
Oh... thank you.

[She accepts the jacket and slowly works her way into it.]

[identity profile] ever-deceptive.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
[Once she has that on, he winds an arm beneath her shoulders to support her and starts slowly walking, heading in the direction of the clinic and watching the road in order to keep her from stepping on anything painful.]

Awfully discourteous of the Malnosso to send you back like this, especially with the weather as it is. Practically speaking, I would think they'd want to keep their test subjects in better health. You can't really get useful data when you start off with someone so wounded.

[Well, he supposes, it does depend on what kind of data they're looking for. But he's talking in generalities.]

[identity profile] boomchucka.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
It's... kinda how they roll around here. They've sent me back as a little kid before so this is nothing compared to that.

[And you know... no snow on the ground to worry about.]

[identity profile] ever-deceptive.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
A little kid? [He throws her a glance at that, intrigued.] You mean they have somehow turned you into a kid, or did they send you home and take you back from an earlier time in your life?

[identity profile] boomchucka.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
They... turned me into a six year old for five days.

[And she went prancing around in the fountain in her birthday suit and got to play tag with a man in the Navy!]

[identity profile] ever-deceptive.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
I wonder how they managed that. [Huh, if they can de-age someone, it sounds like they've uncovered a potential means of immortality. Which would be awfully marketable--uh, useful from a humanitarian perspective, he means. XD Though perhaps it only works inside of the barrier. He's entertained the idea of this all being some kind of fantastic virtual reality before, too, and that would explain how such a thing could happen...but that's a little too philosophical for him. He gives a small shake of his head to dispel those thoughts away.] I hope you came out of that experience all right.

[identity profile] boomchucka.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
I managed alright. I stayed with a friend who's since left this place but it's better that she's not here.

[identity profile] ever-deceptive.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
It'd be better if we were all not here, I suppose.

[And because he's really starting to wonder now:] How many times have you been kidnapped?

[identity profile] boomchucka.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe.

[Selphie's opinion on being here or not wavers from time to time but she doesn't want to think about it at the moment.

Yeager's next question makes her pause for a bit.]

Including this one? Four times.

[identity profile] ever-deceptive.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
Four? [Gosh, that seems like a lot.] And how long have you been in Luceti?

[identity profile] boomchucka.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
Just over a year and a half.

[identity profile] ever-deceptive.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
[Well, maybe in that space of time it isn't a lot. But all the same, considering what two of those instances were like...] What sort of state were you in when they sent you back from your other two kidnappings?

[identity profile] boomchucka.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 04:33 am (UTC)(link)
I was blind from the first one and the second one...

[She shivers from the thought of it.]

They dumped me in the forest in the dead of winter to freeze.

[identity profile] ever-deceptive.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
Goodness. [He feels a stab of pity for her and unconsciously tightens his grip about her shoulders. Not cool, Malnosso. Especially not if you're going to end up doing similar things to him.] At least it isn't so bad this time. ...How long did it take to recover from being blind?

[identity profile] boomchucka.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
Feeling like I've been run over is bad enough.

[Wait until the drafts Yeager.]

A couple of weeks.

[identity profile] ever-deceptive.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 05:29 pm (UTC)(link)
[Well that's just lovely.] You have my sympathies. It sounds like you've certainly had more than your fair share of troubles.

[And this walk has got to be pretty agonizing for her, too. He considers carrying her, but he's not sure whether that would worsen some of her wounds or not. At least they're coming up to the clinic now.]

[identity profile] boomchucka.livejournal.com 2011-11-16 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
[She'll give a short laugh at that.]

Trouble's my middle name.

[identity profile] ever-deceptive.livejournal.com 2011-11-16 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
[That catches a smile out of him. It's always good to be able maintain a sense of humor about this kind of thing, seeing as neither of them can do much else about it.

He steps back from her as they reach the door, holding it open for her. There isn't anyone immediately inside, but someone had the sense to put up some signs, so he manages to guide her down to where the rooms are. Once she's safely seated on the bed, he goes over to the sink and washes the blood and dirt off of his hands. His jacket probably has a good amount of blood on it from her wearing it, too, but that doesn't matter right now.]

I should probably get some bandages for you...
