76th Draw - A little bit louder and a little bit worse [open action/backdated to saturday afternoon]

[The Malnosso seemed to have decided to be nice to Selphie for a change.

Kinda.

They drop her off in the village alright but she's banged up and been bitten more than once. Fighting shift hunters for the past few days has been exhausting and they didn't seem to want to let her sleep at all so she while she may be walking of her own power, it's not very well or very fast. There's a limp to her step as well and her arms are crossed over her chest in an attempt to keep some bit of warmth inside.

Her dress is will stained with fresh and dried blood as she eventually sits down somewhere and huddles in on herself for warmth. Seriously Malnosso, would it kill you to send your mallynap victims back with boots in the colder months? At any rate, if someone happens upon her, the perky brunette is pretty banged up. Most of the wounds are pretty fresh and thanks to wandering about barefoot and an attempt at escape from their Lab, there's bruises everywhere along with the odd burn but those wounds are pretty fresh and better cleaned before they get infected.

[ooc note: Selphie's mallynap effect will make her impervious to the effects of any healing magic meaning that she's gonna have to heal the hard way.]

How long was I gone?

[Don't ask Mia. Selphie spots Mia reaching for her hands and lets the girl do so.]

I feel like I had a house thrown on top of me.

[Getting back up is not going to be fun.]

[She can lean pretty heavily on Mia to stand and walk. The girl is no slouch. To the best of her ability she'll make it as painless for Selphie as she can.]

Did you hit your head? [All the while gently getting her off the ground again]

It was tuesday when they nabbed me.

[There will be a great of wincing but eventually Selphie's back on her feet and grateful to be walking at least partially under her own power. However, she shakes her head slowly in response to Mia's question.]

My ears aren't ringing and I can see straight. I'm just tired; really tired.

[At least that proves she didn't hit her head very hard.]

[they will be going to the nearest clinic. Whichever one that happens to be.]

[She's not entirely thrilled about heading there but it needs to be done so Selphie will just have to suck it up for a bit. She'll back on her feet soon enough.

Let's say for good measure that they're closest to the clinic in the village itself.]

We have to. ...I won't apologize for that. Some of these wounds are serious, and you can't stay out here in the cold.

[Now, let's go. Mia's gentle, and she might not make her spend the night there.]

[Selphie can't and won't argue with Mia right now. A warm place the rest sounds really nice and Selphie's probably in need of some stitches anyway.]

Just as long as I get something warmer than a New Feather dress to wear, I'll put up with it.

[She'll even manage a small smile.]

[Mia is going to let go, very quickly put her cloak around Selphie's shoulders and fasten it, and then hold onto her again]

[Selphie will wobble while doing her best to stand but the addition of the cloak is welcomed.]

[It should be nice and warm, too. Not that she'll need it for long. Once they get to the clinic she should warm right up.]

[It is. Very warm and good at blocking out the cold. But the talking? Totally keeping her awake at the moment.]

When we get there, you will be able to sleep. [no word on whether the misunderstanding is intentional. They're almost to the clinic door, anyway.]

Sleep sounds great. [And she smiles gratefully when she sees the clinic door. Selphie never thought she'd be happy to be there.]

[it won't take long to get her into an empty room, seated on the edge of a bed.]

Don't lie down yet. I want to look at your back first. [Mia has a feeling that if Selphie falls asleep now, she won't be able to wake her up again for any injuries back there.]

[Selphie's just happy to get all the weight off her one ankle as she nods. Whatever you wanna do, she's okay with it Mia.]

[Mia takes her cloak back, leaving it on a chair nearby and turning Selphie's shoulders a bit, so the light is better. There are burns and bruises that she will shake her head about, when Selphie can't see her. Anything serious?]

[Nothing serious that a little tender loving care won't fix. There might be sharp intake of breath at the slight movement from overused muscles.

Pardon the deadpan sarcastic comment, Mia. It's not directed at you.]

Oh, I'm sorry. Let me cover these burns, and then I'll let you sleep, all right?

[that was courtesy. She's not actually waiting for permission. She'll just do it.]

That sounds like a plan to me.

[Selphie's already falling asleep just sitting there on the edge of the bed.]

[This would be so much easier if her Psynergy was working. Once Selphie's back and wings are as clean as she can get them, Mia takes her arm to help her turn and lie down]

And by the time you wake again, you'll be all cleaned up. [Probably. Then there's the matter of letting people know Selphie's returned.] Who should know you're back?

[Selphie gets herself turned and with every aching part of her body, gingerly lies down on the bed. Her body is protesting some of the movement but she breathes a sigh of relief.

Oh right... people who need to know.]

[She's too tired and can't really think of many specific names.]

[really, Mia prefers this. With Selphie asleep, she doesn't have to worry as much about her being in pain, or moving around, while she works. Some of these injuries would not be a great experience to have tended while conscious.

And this way, she can be brisk and serious without worrying about reassuring Selphie at every turn. It's smoother for everyone. Mia will start with the worst injuries she can see.]

[Selphie yawns again before letting her eyes close. She's out like a light within minutes of her head hitting the pillow. Mia, she'll be the best, most cooperative patient ever. Aren't you proud?]

[very proud. Mia will take her time, knowing she can and should. It may be a while, but it will end with Selphie's wounds tended and dressed, and with her covered in a few warm blankets. She leaves that ankle for last - once it's cared for, she will open her journal and make a short written note about the girl's return and location.

Then, she'll pull the chair over, to sit and wait. And hold her hand, just in case]

[Selphie's hand periodically balls her fists in the sheets but doesn't wake during the treatment. Some sort of dream is running its course in her mind.

Once Mia begins holding Selphie's hand though, the dreams turn to peaceful thoughts.]
