[It's sometime on Saturday when Selphie feels a lot better than she did the day before. A lot of healing magic and several hours of uninterrupted sleep can work wonders for a battered body. She's still a bit under the influence of Malnosso medications but once those get metabolised, she'll be right as rain! For now, she blinks a couple times, hoping that she can see today.

No such luck. Damn Malnosso. Why'd they have to take her sight away? Selphie's an independent gal and she doesn't like this notion of having to rely on others right now. A certain someone already treated her like a China Doll when she got that cold but now he'll have even more incentive to do so. There's no chance in hell that Selphie's staying in bed for another week straight. Instead, she wants to get a feel for her surroundings.

She'll gingerly push herself up in her bed and feel around for hands or heads or anything really. Is there someone there? Are you coming to visit Selphie while she's stuck in bed? She might be a bit grumbly later so the clinic staff will probably tell her to rest a bit. Perhaps she'll be waking up from a nap when you see her? She's still healing up though and could go with some good cheer. Being blind is upsetting her more than she's hopefully letting show. She is however refusing to say that this place kinda sucks at the moment.

Come say hi! She needs catching up and a good hefty dose of distraction!

Eventually though, she feels her journal (she'd glued a large flower to it) and opens it up. Feeling for the buttons, Selphie eventually finds the one to make a voice post.]

Uh... hey guys. What's up?

[At some point, Rydia steps into the clinic. She heads over to Selphie's room and peers in.]

[There are the contents of a bowl of applesauce nearby as Selphie's finally succeeded in sitting (with the aid of a pillow or two) as she looks over toward where she's hoping the door is.]

Hello?

[Rydia smiles, belatedly realizing that Selphie can't see it, then heads over.]

Hello, Selphie! I see the boys finally gave you some space at last.

[Selphie waves back even though she can't see Rydia's greeting but she'll nod.]

The staff said it was quiet time so... [They were asked to leave.]

Oh! Thanks for bringing me the change of clothes the other day.

[She takes a seat next to the bed.]

It's no problem! I can always bring more, if you want. You ought to be comfortable while you're here, after all.

[Selphie follows Rydia's footsteps in an attempt to figure out which side the summoner is sitting on. Even when blind, the girl still wants to face the people she's speaking with. It makes it easier.]

I'm hoping they'll let me out before that has to happen.

It's your call. When the Malnosso returned me blind, I didn't stay at the clinic longer than I could help. Maybe I should have, though. It probably would have made things easier.

They... made you blind too? For how long? As for staying or leaving... I dunno what to do about that.

It was about...eight days? Around that. And then, one day, I could see perfectly fine again. Maybe it will be the same for you, too.

[That's definitely something to think about as Selphie just nods. Maybe it'll be that long but then again, it could be longer.]

It will be, I just know it!

That's the spirit! And until then, you have the boys and myself and probably plenty of other people willing to help out. You'd help us, so it's only fair.

[That very thought has Selphie warming up from the inside out. She's grateful that there are people who can raise her spirits so that she doesn't have to be the one raising them all the time.]

I know, I've got everybody here.

[Rydia nods encouragingly, but realizes a moment later how that can't be seen. Stupid Malnosso.]

Exactly. And at least the journal-chatter is a little more interesting, lately? The New Feather flood has certainly revived things around here. I haven't been this busy in a while--but I'm enjoying it.

I guess it's too late to say hi to them individually. I'll have to do something about that. Maybe I could help out in someway even though I can't see.

[She's not really looking forward to the China Doll treatment again from a certain Ceoderp.]

I don't think it's too late for that. I'm not convinced the last of them have arrived yet. And if you greet them and tell them about how to reach the Welcome Center, that would help me -and them- immensely.

I could do that! I could tell about the arrows or if they could get to the river to follow it into town and to watch out for that one area of the forest because the first steps a bit of a doozy. [She speaks from experience.]

See, that's exactly what I need. I try to get to as many New Feathers as I can over the journals, but I'm not able to be everywhere.

I'd love to help you out. And at least, the New Feathers would wake up to hearing a friendly voice right?

Right! It's a major shock, arriving here. Having someone to help them through those first steps can make all the difference.

Tell me about it! I know people helped me get to town so I wanna repay that kindness by helping others.
