31st Draw = missed the spin cycle [ Accidental Voice/Action ]
[Forward-dated to the morning of September 3. Any dialogue in this entry is being recorded through Frey's journal.
The Malnosso aren't particularly kind to their guinea-pigs as they dropped Selphie into the river just outside of town. Not only had they thrown Selphie against the side of a house and dragged her away, every time she'd tried to fight them off, they only knocked her out for longer and longer. Eventually, they'd pulled out restraints to tie the girl down so they could experiment as they'd pleased. The bruises on her wrists and ankles were proof enough. There were wounds healing on her arms and legs as she came to the surface of the river spluttering. With what strength she had left, the perky brunette managed to make it to the shore without drowning.
She was drained of her usual energy, pale as a sheet and to put the cherry on top of this cake, she was soaked to the skin. Exhaustion takes Selphie down to the river bank with a hand outstretched in front of her. Where she'd laid down, her legs are still in the water, cooling the bruises on her ankles as she stares at the ground through clouded over green eyes.
Clouded over? Selphie's too out of it from whatever they'd put her through to comprehend that the Malnosso had decided to take her sight from her for a bit.]
Who is... Selphie?! Selphie, are you ok?
[There’s the sound of rushing footsteps in the audio recording, then of someone kneeling. A few seconds later, there’s the flipping of journal pages as the journal is fully open.]
.
Ceodore, Selphie’s back. Meet me by the river, I may need help moving her.

[Action]
I... I can't see anything.
[Action]
[Not that he minds taking them to the clinic, but he's desperate to make sure she's okay and has to do something for her. Other than hug her tightly, which he probably shouldn't do but he's rash and not thinking that through. At least it catches her from falling over.
He casts Curaga on her first and foremost, and then follows up with Esuna to repair her lack of vision.]
How's that?
[Action]
[Action]
I don't think it helped.
[If there was ever a time that Selphie wanted to cry, this was one of them. She'd never felt so full of despair as she did at this moment.]
[Action]
[He'll turn loose since he can feel her trying to pull away.] Sorry, Selphie. I'm so relieved your back. We'll... we'll get you fixed. I promise.
[Action]
If anything, this shouldn't last. Nothing the Malnosso does to people ever lasts. [His voice is still concerned, though.]
[Action]
[Action]
He gently scoops up Selphie into his arms and resists doing something more affectionate because his bff is present and well, you just don't do that.]
Frey, stand close to me.
[Action]
As for sticking around, Frey will be doing so, and making sure Ceodore sleeps, at least.]
[Action]
[Action]
Fortunately, this isn't one of those times and in a matter of seconds, they're standing in the clinic.]
I'm going to find you somewhere to lay down.
