[Selphie's always known that she'd have to write another one of these messages sooner or later but she doesn't like them. She found it a bit odd that she'd been the first one up that day as she wandered over to Smoker's room and found the door to be open.

The room was empty. It was devoid of everything that had the room look like it had been lived in. Her eyes went wide in shock before she stepped back and sank to the floor, her shoulders sagging as she slumped forward. She sat there for quite a while in silence before heading back to her own room and grabbing her own journal. She had to say something to everyone else who knew Smoker.]

Frey, could you come over please?

[She puts down the pen and finds herself scouring the entire apartment, eventually coming across Smoker's jacket that the bots hadn't come in to swipe. She pulls it out of the closet and stashes it away in the closet in her bedroom before finding something to keep her mind preoccupied.

Once she learned that Ikki's friends had disappeared as well, Selphie edits her message to reflect the news.]

Can you add a notice about Marco the Phoenix and Nico Robin being gone as well?

[Ikki's not at the apartment, even with Selphie there he couldn't keep himself there. Not when there was such a sudden and huge void in Luceti. Not just one but three.

At least Robin and Marco went away together. Maybe they will meet again in their world.]

[Selphie went and opened the door to Ikki's room as well.]

I'll see you whenever you come back to the apartment then?

You will.

[Though he has no idea when that will be. He needs isolation, now more than ever, even if it's wrong it's his way to deal with this.]

[She knows better this time than to stop him. Selphie also knows that Ikki will come back when he's ready to.]

Don't throw a wild party while you're alone.

[It's a good think it's written, this way it can actually come off as the joke it's supposed to be. If they were talking... There's no way he would have been able to say it, not without a broken voice at least. It's not the first time someone he cares about leaves, or a friend leaves, not even the first time he loses a sibling, but it's the first time he loses so much so suddenly. And Marco was special, another phoenix like him, someone who could understand him without even having to explain himself.

He had forgot how heavy being himself felt when he was the only phoenix.]

[Several lines of Selphie tapping her pen on the paper appear over a period of about ten minutes while she tries to think of something to say to make this sound better than it feels. That one single word rips through her heart as the tears start falling down her cheeks in response. She understands that Ikki's just joking but it wasn't the best time to do so.]

[A while later, there's a new message from Ikki, this time in voice. His tone is distant, broken, but he forces himself to sound as natural as possible, it barely works but it shows the effort.]

Selphie. Rin is going to go there and pick you up, I want you to stay with him and Shiemi until I'm back at least... Please.

[Even if she doesn't have all the memories she used to, she should know by now that Ikki rarely (almost never) asks things with the word "please" anywhere around to him. But he really wants, needs, her to do this, even if he knows that if it's for company she could find company on her own.]

[Selphie's calmed down quite a bit since Ikki's last response and knows that this latest batch of departures has truly affected him deeply. He never uses the word "please" for anything and to hear it coming from him. She knows that he knows that she doesn't like to be alone and can understand his logic on this.]

Can you tell him to give me a little time to get ready first?

[Her own voice is subdued from the loss and while she could insist that she'd be fine on her own for a little bit, Selphie doesn't argue.]

[She doesn't argue and it makes him let go a breath he had been holding unconsciously.]

Okay.

[He doesn't promise to be back soon, he can't. He will be back, he has to, but he doesn't know when and right now it feels as if it could be an eternity before he can think of it. So he doesn't make a promise.]

[ Jeez Ikki, you're just making a hassle out of all this... though that said, he does get it. Or at least he thinks he does. He was in a weird place when Yukio went home. But still, he gives it an hour and tries to talk to Shiemi some before he makes his way to the apartment to pick up Selphie ]

[By the time Rin pops by the apartment to pick her up, Selphie's picked up enough of the pieces to shower, dress herself in a pair of denim overalls and a blue hoodie and pack enough clothes to last a week into a backpack. She's currently eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich while sitting at the kitchen table.]

[ Well.

This is the place.

[She makes quick work of washing the few dishes she'd used before leaving them to dry. She sighs lightly before heading toward the door to greet Rin.]

I didn't wanna assume or nothing.

[ To make his first entrance here bad. He makes his way inside after opening the door to get event with her, looking a little sheepish ]

It's okay. I knew you were coming.

[She's feeling pretty sheepish herself.]

I'm sorry to impose on you guys like this.

It's... fine. Ikki said it'd be for a while and it's not like anyone wants to be alone that much anyway.

I haven't been over to your place since the summer but it'll be good to get to know you and Shiemi a little better. Just lemme grab my bag and we'll be all set.

Anything I need to carry?

Nope! It's not like I packed everything but the kitchen sink, Rin.

[When Selphie comes back into the main area of the apartment carrying a backpack that while fairly full, it mostly clothes and personal items she'll need.]

When you're on the road a lot like I was back where I'm from, you learned pretty quickly to pack light.

Just makin' sure. [ He waves a hand at that, his tail curling somewhat uncomfortably behind him. He doesn't like Ikki ollieing out and leaving him with his sister. Why isn't he with her? ]

Thanks for the offer though. [Maybe her facade is failing her today, but if Ikki needs the solitude to sort things out with himself, then Selphie needs to fake it until she can be by herself for a little bit longer. If Rin hadn't come by, she would've just crawled back into bed and gone back to sleep.

The pep in Selphie's step should give off the air that everything was fine, however.]

[ Well, he's got no reason to question it, really. It's not like he knows her that well or what her relation to that Marco guy was. ... Or the other ones. Either way, he reddens a little, and waves a hand for her to follow him. Let's get moving back to the house !! ]
