2 ♥ Luceti Valley Catchall

[ooc: This post will be for the entirety of the first week.

Selphie's childhood had been different from most other kids she knew. Her father Smoker, trained her and her older brother, Ikki in the martial arts and instilled in them both a firm sense of justice. She followed the rules and did her best scholastically despite not being particularly enclined to academia. She'd graduated from high school with her most notable trait being that she was a lower class socialite who wanted to unite the classes.

Her education had left her with few options for employment and with the textiles factory being on strike for the past few months, the perky brunette had sought employment elsewhere. She'd luck out in landing a job as the receptionist of Mr. Brief at Capsule Corp. She was grateful to have the chance to prove herself to the world and to her family. She loved them all dearly but there were times when a gal needed her independence.

It's the start of another day in Selphie's not-so-ordinary life. She's up early to get ready for work because she doesn't want to be late again. It's only been a few weeks since she graduated from High School and she wants to make a good impression for everyone to see. Her hair is pulled back into a half ponytail and she's in her customary spring themed poodle skirts and simple blouse.

She'll stop in the kitchen eventually and grab some food and chat up her family. She yawns a bit before digging into breakfast. The parents get a kiss on the cheek and Ikki gets a playful punch before she's off with her lunch bag in tow to start another day at Capsule Corp. Her boss is a bit of a hot head but he's not all that bad. Vegeta's gruff manner reminds her of her Father and it doesn't bother her because of that.

There was never a dull day as the receptionist of Capsule Corporation. There were all sorts of interesting people coming in and she took it upon herself to greet them all before helping them.

Whatever else happens during the day, Selphie will go with the flow.]

[Somehow or another Rudy finds himself wandering into Capsule Corp.'s main building a few days into the week. He'd been looking for some extra work, so far with no luck. Of course, it's probably even crazier to think he could find any sort job here when he doesn't even have a degree. It was a slim chance beyond none, but it was worth a shot! Right?

He approaches the receptionist's desk, making his best attempt to put on a friendly smile.]

Ah, s'cuse me, you have a minute? I just had a few questions I wanted to, um...

[Aaand he's already diverted his gaze, hand raising to the back of his head. This was always so awkward. If he hadn't, he'd have realized the receptionist looks a bit familiar too!]
ofwesternwinds: (» the way back)

[personal profile] ofwesternwinds 2013-08-07 05:24 pm (UTC)(link)
T-Thanks.

[He's about to take the application when he finally looks up and... Wait a second. Is it just him, or does this receptionist look very familiar?]

... Hey, don't I know you?
ofwesternwinds: (» awkward turtle??)

[personal profile] ofwesternwinds 2013-08-19 12:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Um... biology class? [A brief, awkward pause as he mumbles the next part.] ... Guess you wouldn't remember.

[... Well, he was just an underclassman. And he did screw up part of their work for the both of them, and his habit of turning his work in at the last minute probably didn't help them much. He wouldn't blame her for not remembering, if this was her.]
misterbrief: (Shut up moron!)

Day 9?

[personal profile] misterbrief 2013-08-09 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
[So, Vegeta's stomped by Selphie this morning without saying as much as a word to the woman before he goes inside his office, sitting down at his desk and beginning to gently try to open drawers to get his files out as he'd just ripped the door handle off the front door coming in.]

[Eventually, he gets frustrated...and yells for his receptionist.]

Ms. Tilmitt!! Get in here now!
misterbrief: (silently angry)

THERE IS NO HELP HERE (also, that icon of yours omg LOL.)

[personal profile] misterbrief 2013-08-13 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
[Drawers had been ripped out and strewn about the office, papers inside littering the floor like a layer of thick dust. All on accident. All without any rhyme nor reason to it, something he couldn't possibly begin to understand. He sat, his hands in his lap to prevent himself from breaking something else. He eyes a part of the wall where a bookshelf resided, a splintered drawer lying beneath the spot where he'd thrown it in frustration.

But his eyes wander back over to the doorway, where he sees his frightened receptionist standing there, waiting for him to speak again. He tries to calm himself the best he can, but his temper, it was running wildly and it took great effort to keep his voice level.]

I want someone in here now to clean this up. Tell them to get here in five minutes or they don't have a job anymore. Understand? And when you're through I want you back in here.
misterbrief: (I'm afraid not.)

[personal profile] misterbrief 2013-08-19 06:15 pm (UTC)(link)
[When she returns, she'll find him tapping his fingers angrily on his arm, a look of worry mixed in with his complete frustration apparent on his features.]

If you can tell me why I was able to rip the door handle off the front door this morning so easily, that would be a good start. [Not that he's expecting her to have an answer. But he wants to ask before the clean up crew gets there.]

uccellodifuoco: How could he just forsake us? (004 - This is life that's so thankless)

[personal profile] uccellodifuoco 2013-08-11 02:05 pm (UTC)(link)
[A gal needs her independence, and Selphie needs it a lot. Specially with a brother like the one she has who has what could only be described as a sister complex. He still lets her go around doing her own things, or tries to, but he can't help to be overprotective and worry. Which is why sometimes he goes to pick her up at the end of her workday.

Ikki doesn't enter into Capsule Corp.'s main building, he has no business there after all, except wanting to pick up his sister. So he just sits around the exit and waits, glaring and scowling at anyone who seems to dare to try to ask what he wants or tell him to leave. Waiting as long as it's needed for Selphie to exit the building.]
uccellodifuoco: What you're dying to see (002 - I am trying to be)

[personal profile] uccellodifuoco 2013-08-11 08:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[He's always worried, he just... Manages to actually not always act on it. Anyway he lets her pull him away from the wall, smirking at her quip.]

What, you mean that all the others aren't up to me and that I have to actually do them? I have no business inside that building, and I doubt having a scowling older brother hanging around the lobby would be a good image for you guys.

[Even if he knows that Selphie's boss actually scowls around more than Ikki does.]

[ Twilight points out locations for Selphie's various books as they go through the library, while she puts her own away. It's not the first time Selphie has helped out, and Twilight genuinely appreciates it, and hopes she'll be able to repay the favor with some rare book. She peers in the dark corners of shelves to see if there are any lost or forgotten or obscure tomes that Selphie might be interested in.

Eventually she does find something. It's not exactly a typical book, but Twilight gets the feeling Selphie wasn't looking for typical anyway. She pulls the book off the end of a shelf, where it was hidden by some larger books. ]

"A History of Pony Athletes and Their Role in the Species' Proliferation". Read it yet?

Hmm. Oh! We got a few sequels in yesterday. Come on!

[ She trots down the hall, trying to think of what else came in this week. ] And I think there's a new science fiction author, too... [ Twilight's a fan of science fiction. Who wouldn't be? Too bad it's completely fake. ]

You actually bothered to send a resumé with a cover letter, despite having a tiny amount to put on it. Most people fill out the application and don't even bother with anything else. Putting effort into an application should be a no-brainer. Which it's pretty obvious to me that none of these idiots have any common sense.

[He takes the envelope, slipping it into his jacket pocket. He'd read them in his office. He fingers the thank you card between his two fingers, flipping it open and showing it to her.]

You don't know this person, do you? [Because if she does, recommendations go a long way?]
