2 ♥ Luceti Valley Catchall
[ooc: This post will be for the entirety of the first week.
Selphie's childhood had been different from most other kids she knew. Her father Smoker, trained her and her older brother, Ikki in the martial arts and instilled in them both a firm sense of justice. She followed the rules and did her best scholastically despite not being particularly enclined to academia. She'd graduated from high school with her most notable trait being that she was a lower class socialite who wanted to unite the classes.
Her education had left her with few options for employment and with the textiles factory being on strike for the past few months, the perky brunette had sought employment elsewhere. She'd luck out in landing a job as the receptionist of Mr. Brief at Capsule Corp. She was grateful to have the chance to prove herself to the world and to her family. She loved them all dearly but there were times when a gal needed her independence.
It's the start of another day in Selphie's not-so-ordinary life. She's up early to get ready for work because she doesn't want to be late again. It's only been a few weeks since she graduated from High School and she wants to make a good impression for everyone to see. Her hair is pulled back into a half ponytail and she's in her customary spring themed poodle skirts and simple blouse.
She'll stop in the kitchen eventually and grab some food and chat up her family. She yawns a bit before digging into breakfast. The parents get a kiss on the cheek and Ikki gets a playful punch before she's off with her lunch bag in tow to start another day at Capsule Corp. Her boss is a bit of a hot head but he's not all that bad. Vegeta's gruff manner reminds her of her Father and it doesn't bother her because of that.
There was never a dull day as the receptionist of Capsule Corporation. There were all sorts of interesting people coming in and she took it upon herself to greet them all before helping them.
Whatever else happens during the day, Selphie will go with the flow.]

He approaches the receptionist's desk, making his best attempt to put on a friendly smile.]
Ah, s'cuse me, you have a minute? I just had a few questions I wanted to, um...
[Aaand he's already diverted his gaze, hand raising to the back of his head. This was always so awkward. If he hadn't, he'd have realized the receptionist looks a bit familiar too!]
no subject
Are you here to apply for a job with Capsule Corp?
[She produces a pen and an application.]
All you need to do is fill out this application and I'll forward it to our Human Resources department.
no subject
[He's about to take the application when he finally looks up and... Wait a second. Is it just him, or does this receptionist look very familiar?]
... Hey, don't I know you?
no subject
I don't think so?

[... Well, he was just an underclassman. And he did screw up part of their work for the both of them, and his habit of turning his work in at the last minute probably didn't help them much. He wouldn't blame her for not remembering, if this was her.]

Day 9?
[Eventually, he gets frustrated...and yells for his receptionist.]
Ms. Tilmitt!! Get in here now!
OH LAWD HALP MEH
Yes Mr. --
[Her words stop at the spectacle before her eyes before she's looking toward her boss with every ounce of guarded curiosity she can muster. Just what in the world happened in his office? It looks like a war zone in here.]
THERE IS NO HELP HERE (also, that icon of yours omg LOL.)
But his eyes wander back over to the doorway, where he sees his frightened receptionist standing there, waiting for him to speak again. He tries to calm himself the best he can, but his temper, it was running wildly and it took great effort to keep his voice level.]
I want someone in here now to clean this up. Tell them to get here in five minutes or they don't have a job anymore. Understand? And when you're through I want you back in here.
It seemed appropriate! (and apologies for the late tag)
Right away, Mr. Brief.
[She pivots with a crisp motion back to her desk before she's relaying Vegeta's message for a Janitor to come clean up his office. He'll hear her arguing with the staff and eventually responding with his threat of unemployment with a slight change to two minutes. There will be a small cleanup crew there in five minutes exactly as she re-enters the office and edges closer to her boss.]
Is there anything I can do to help, sir?
no subject
If you can tell me why I was able to rip the door handle off the front door this morning so easily, that would be a good start. [Not that he's expecting her to have an answer. But he wants to ask before the clean up crew gets there.]

even Vegeta is taller than Selphie. xD

Ikki doesn't enter into Capsule Corp.'s main building, he has no business there after all, except wanting to pick up his sister. So he just sits around the exit and waits, glaring and scowling at anyone who seems to dare to try to ask what he wants or tell him to leave. Waiting as long as it's needed for Selphie to exit the building.]
no subject
Somebody's been worried again~
[She then gives Ikki a serious look before grabbing his hands and pulling him away from the wall he was holding up.]
No need to hold up the building, it'll be fine for a few hours until tomorrow afternoon. I'm pretty sure Mr. Brief won't mind if you come inside to wait by the way.
Or you could me meet at one of the shops.
Or you could smile. [She shrugs at that quip with a wink.] That one's up to you though.
no subject
What, you mean that all the others aren't up to me and that I have to actually do them? I have no business inside that building, and I doubt having a scowling older brother hanging around the lobby would be a good image for you guys.
[Even if he knows that Selphie's boss actually scowls around more than Ikki does.]
no subject
Well, what's the money like holding up the walls all day? And it sounds pretty boring if you ask me.
[She drags in the direction of home, knowing full well that when her brother isn't worried about her, he's worried about their Mother.]
Do we need to grab anything from the store?

Selphie/Twilight Sparkle Continuation thread
Well, the work should go faster if we do it together right?
[She continues following her cousin with the books in tow. She'd always helped out the library when she could. It was something to do and it turned into something she enjoyed and keeps doing to this day.]
Lemme help.
no subject
Eventually she does find something. It's not exactly a typical book, but Twilight gets the feeling Selphie wasn't looking for typical anyway. She pulls the book off the end of a shelf, where it was hidden by some larger books. ]
"A History of Pony Athletes and Their Role in the Species' Proliferation". Read it yet?
no subject
She reads through the first opening paragraphs and feels that that's enough of a read to make up her mind about it. It's not the usual book that she's been reading lately but it's still worth a shot to give it a chance.]
I'll give it a shot for sure. I've got a pony for a cousin so I should learn some more about them if I see anymore. Is there anything new in the fiction department?
no subject
[ She trots down the hall, trying to think of what else came in this week. ] And I think there's a new science fiction author, too... [ Twilight's a fan of science fiction. Who wouldn't be? Too bad it's completely fake. ]

Selphie/Karla Continuation thread
[Selphie ponders the possibilities for dinner and can't really come up with anything.]
I'm not picky. What about the weekly round of Meatloaf and all the goodies that go with it?

Vegeta/Selphie at the office continuation thread
Maybe they're looking for a chance? Like the one you took on me.
[She smiles a bit nervously as she accepts the extremely light file with a quiet nod. She'd worked hard to get this position and felt that she still has a lot to prove but for now, she sets the folder down on her desk and produces a few message slips along with an envelope.]
These are your most pressing messages and one of the applicants from a couple days ago dropped off a thank you card. Sounds like they really want the job, if you ask me.
Otherwise, that's all for the moment.
no subject
[He takes the envelope, slipping it into his jacket pocket. He'd read them in his office. He fingers the thank you card between his two fingers, flipping it open and showing it to her.]
You don't know this person, do you? [Because if she does, recommendations go a long way?]
no subject
[She studies the card thoughtfully before plucking it out of his grasp and reading it closer. She closes the card after she's finished and hands it back to him.]
I'm afraid I don't. Maybe a second interview is in order?
