69th Draw = Confusion abound [Voice/Action to those who want it.]

[Selphie's been safely returned from the draft despite the fact that the fighting and sudden shift back into the village has taken every ounce of energy she had in her system right back out. She remembers arriving near the fountain and sitting down before passing out. She remembers someone picking her up but not the name of who had done it. She'll see the sandwich on the bedside table and smiles softly at the gesture. Whoever it was, Selphie owes them a world of thanks for their thoughtfulness.

This incident was approximately fourteen hours ago as Selphie sits up far too quick for her sore and protesting body. She falls back into her bed and lays there for a good half hour or so before taking another, slower shot at moving around. She's stiff as a board from the intensity of the mission as she goes through a series of stretches to help releave some of her discomfort. A couple ibuprofen will further help with aches before a shower and the munching of a sandwich is had.

She settles back into bed as she reaches for her journal. She knows that she's tired and overdid it in every way possible but the perky brunette doesn't regret her actions in the least. She doesn't have a clue where Ceodore is but sincerely hopes that he's okay. Between him and Archie, they've given her quite the scare and the look on her face shows it plainly. She doesn't bother hiding it behind a faked smile this time. Selphie doesn't like it in the least but she knows that there's nothing to be done about it.]

So tired... I'll be going back to sleep soon.

Has everybody made it back to the village okay? How're things in the village right now? And... who brought me home? Thank you to whoever you are.

Now then... can somone tell me where Archie, Ceodore and Mister Hornblower have wound up?

And uh... if anybody decides to come calling, you'll have to let yourself in. Community Building 3, first floor, room four. Just... ignore the mess right now.

Right... anywho... time for some more sleep. I'm bushed.

The paper of the journal starts getting splattered with little drops but there's no sound coming out. She's turned the voice off at this point.]

[That's not what he expected. Or wanted.]

Wha- Selphie!! Why the- Argh!!

[Ikki grunts, groans, grumbles and finally slams the journal close. What the hell. Stupid girl. Stupid gratitude.

Unless she has ran away from her place there's going to be a phoenix stomping in after just a few seconds since the journal was shut. And yes, he's getting in unless she uses magic or something, he will break the door if he has to.]

[Ikki will find that the door to her apartment is unlocked and the rooms inside are completely silent. If he comes across a light blue painted bedroom, he'll find Selphie curled tightly around a pillow having decided that it'll be better to go back to sleep than lay there crying.]

[It's indeed a better option, though it still irritates Ikki. Why did he come so fast then? She'll get over it, it's her problem if she wants to cry...

He's just going to sit outside the room and wait for her to wake up again.]

[When two people are taking hits intended for you, it tends to throw you right off kilter and since arriving back in the journal and sleeping half a day away, it was legitimately the first chance she'd had to process what had happened.

Ikki, you may have to wait a little bit for her to come out. Which just so happens to be about... six hours later. She comes out of her room and doesn't even notice him as she goes right for some water.]

[Six hours, twelve, two months, he's not moving until he talks with her. When she comes out he remains there, though, watching her back cautiously to see where she's going and what she's going to do.]

[Here's a good reason why Selphie insisted upon plastic cups for their apartment. In events -- such as this -- where the perky brunette becomes startled -- squeaks like a mouse even -- and drops the cup full of water onto the floor, there aren't any shards of glass to clean up.]

Ikki...

[Plastic cups are a great idea indeed. Ikki frowns a bit, startled himself by her squeak, he hasn't done anything to scare her...]

Am I that scary?

No... you just surprised me is all.

I see... I'm sorry.

It's all right.

[She goes to grab a tea towel to clean up the mess.]

[He watches her clean in silence for a moment.]

I'm sorry.

[It sounds sincere... And quiet, she may miss it in fact.]

[Selphie looks up at Ikki in surprise at the apology but she nods slightly.]

[Does she know why he's apologizing? He's not sure but he doesn't care either, he doesn't really want to talk about it. He pauses and it seems as if he's mentally counting before he looks at her.]

I'm sorry.

[She does have an idea as she drops the cup and towel in the sink before sitting down next to Ikki.]

I got a little overwhelmed earlier. I'm okay now.

It was my fault anyway.

[But he really can't just go and accept someone's gratitude. It's just stupid and pointless, he doesn't do things to be thanked.]

Do you remember your mother?

[Probably out of the blue and maybe not the best question but Ikki's no good with those things.]

[Now here's a slightly difficult topic.]

I don't. I wish I did though.

[Ikki nods, he can understand that. He remembers his mother but... Not completely, all he can come up with in his memories is a fading voice and a face without eyes to make it recognizable.]

My mother died after she gave birth my younger brother. She had been sick for a long time and we didn't live in the best conditions, it was a miracle that my brother was born healthy.

[But that's not really the point for which he has brought this up.]

Her last words were "take care of your sibling", she didn't even know if it was a boy or a girl but she did all she could and gave her life for him. If he was so dear to her even despite her not knowing him at all, I who could know him should do no less for him forever.

When people say "thanks" to me it feels as if they are saying "there's no need for you to do more". But I have no intentions of stopping so I don't want to hear that.

[This is, without doubt, the most Ikki has told anyone about himself since he got to Luceti.]

My parents died when I was a kid so I don't have a lot of memories of them. I grew up in an Orphanage after that before I was sent to Garden to become a SeeD.

I was always told that saying "thanks" was to let someone know that you appreciate what they do for you.
