There different kinds of spells. There's ones that heal, others that can do damage and others to protect.

I don't think Ceodore will mind at all.

I think so? Where I come from, we can't learn magic at all. We have to equip a special summoning monster called a Guardian Force in order to use magic at all.

Well... we use magic a bit differently than I think you're thinking of. We can use magic to strengthen of life force but we can also use it to make ourselves stronger. We also use it for defence, healing and attacking.

[Selphie's tempted to break out the coloured pencils and draw something in the meantime...]

I know people that do learn magic though. It's definitely different from world to world.

But you can always broaden your horizons a little bit at a time though.
