He can also make guesses on how she feels, and that's all that keeps him from going to her side right away. It's one of the side effects of being stuck in Luceti and coming to care about people, he eventually starts taking into account their own situation because if it was just about him he would have acted already, he would go and talk to everyone and make sure to crush any thoughts of knowing him they may have had. But now he takes time to go to them, and he doesn't approach them thinking on crushing those thoughts. Specially with Selphie, it would be impossible for him to do that now, he couldn't do it even when she didn't remember him after all.
